Boat Tour

With the Gulf of St. Lawrence at our doorstep, the Lower North Shore is an ideal place to explore by boat.  Not only can you witness the abundance of marine and bird life from this viewpoint, but the boat ride and people you meet along the way will really make the landscape come alive.

You can start by exploring the waters of the Lower North Shore through your journey here.  The Nordik Express travels along the Coast from various points in Quebec. The M/V Apollo links the Lower North Shore with Newfoundland. Both ferries provide exceptional opportunities to view whales, icebergs and other marine life.  There’s truth in the expression “half the fun is getting there!”

Local Guide
Local Guide

Along the different communities of the Lower North Shore, there are several organized excursions by boat.  These tours will allow you to take in some of the most incredible sights of marine, bird and wildlife, along with breathtaking scenery that you can only see from the water.  You will also discover more about the region’s culture and history through interpretation panels at your stops, or through the many stories and legends you will hear about along the way.

In communities where there are no organized excursions, need not worry.

You are visiting a region where generations of fishermen were born, and every other person owns a boat.  If you are looking for an informal tour, and are willing to travel at your own risk, just ask at a local store or wharf, and someone will be sure to help.  True adventure is only a boat ride away!
